Crude oil shipment through CPC's terminal down

Marine Terminal (MT) of Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) has shipped over 4.52 million gross tons (35.8 million barrels) of crude oil in August 2020, which is 0.5 percent less than in July 2020 (4.55 million gross tons), Trend reports with reference to CPC.

Fourty four talkers passed through the MT in August 2020 which also is two tankers less than in July (46 tankers). The total number of tankers handled in the first eight months of the year in Yuzhnaya Ozereyevka terminal has reached 389.

Out of the 4.5 million tons of crude oil shipped in August 2020, 2.1 million tons was from Kazakhstan’s Tengiz field, 827,406 tons from Karachaganak field, 1.1 million tons from Kashagan field, and 9,954 tons from other Kazakh producers.

In August, the Kazakh producers shipped in total 4.1 million tons of crude oil with another 401,724 tons of the shipped crude oil came from Russia. The August shipment schedule was completed in full.

From 2001 through August 31, 2020, 686.1 million net tons of crude oil were delivered to the world markets via the Tengiz-Novorossiysk oil pipeline system.

That included 598.5 million tons of crude oil came from Kazakhstan and 87.5 million tons produced in Russia. The total number of tankers handled over that period has amounted to 6,464.

CPC Pipeline System is one of the major investment projects in energy sector with participation of foreign capital in the CIS.

The length of the Tengiz–Novorossiysk Pipeline is 1,511 km; it transports over two thirds of all Kazakhstan export crude, as well as crude from Russian oil fields, including the Caspian Region.

CPC Marine Terminal is equipped with three Single Point Moorings (SPM) that allow to load tankers safely at a significant distance offshore, also amid poor weather conditions.
