From January through August 2020, the volume of imported products of Uzbek-Korean Gas Chemical enterprise in comparison with the same period last year decreased by $10.8 million, Trend reports with reference to Uzbekneftegaz.
In order to accelerate the development of Uzbekistan’s economy in a pandemic, ensure the production of export and competitive industrial products that are in high demand in the domestic and foreign markets, the working group of Uzbekneftegaz JSC studied the implementation of new projects at the Uz-Kor Gas Chemical JV.
Currently, in order to meet the industrial needs of the enterprise, JV Uz-Kor Gas Chemical LLC is implementing projects to build a high-purity hydrogen and nitrogen storage station with a total cost of $0.29 million.
As a result of the implementation of these projects, the volume of imports of the industry will be reduced to $250,000, and 780 cubic meters of high-purity nitrogen and 5,500 cubic meters of hydrogen products will be produced annually.
The working group reviewed the progress of construction work on this project and identified the tasks that must be completed to speed up the work.
In addition, the company is currently developing a project for the production of washing oil for its own needs based on a localization plan and reduction of imports.
The cost of the project is $18 million, as a result of the implementation, 5,000 tons of washing oils will be produced per year.
JV Uz-Kor Gas Chemical LLC was established in 2015 as part of the development of bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and South Korea, Uzbekneftegaz JSC, and the Consortium of Korean companies on a parity basis. The enterprise annually produces 387,000 tons of polyethylene, 83,000 tons of polypropylene, 102,000 tons of pyrolysis distillates, and 8,000 tons of pyrolysis oil.
