SOCAR’s 2019 oil output exceeds forecasts

The volume of oil production by Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR onshore and in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea has exceeded the forecast volume by 99,300 tons or 101.3 percent in 2019, Trend reports with reference to the company’s updated data for the last year.

The company produced 7.683 million tons of oil together with condensate, of which 6.346 million tons accounted for SOCAR’s Azneft production union and 1.336 million tons was produced from the fields where SOCAR has a share.

Oil production in Azerbaijan in 2019 stood at 37.453 million tons, of which 7.683 million tons accounted for SOCAR and 29.770 million tons for others.

This is while in 2018, the country’s oil production amounted to 38.814 million tons, of which 7.542 million tons accounted for SOCAR and 31.272 million tons for others.

Some 28.8 million tons of oil (together with condensate) were produced in Azerbaijan from January through October 2020.

The figure decreased by about 2.3 million tons compared to the corresponding period of last year.

Some 19.7 million tons of oil accounted for Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli, 2.9 million tons (including condensate) - Shah Deniz, 6.2 million tons (together with condensate) - the share of SOCAR.
