The foundation of a sewage filtration center will be laid in the Eslamshahr County of the Tehran Province (northern Iran) tomorrow on Mar. 16, Trend reports citing the Ministry of Energy of Iran.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani will attend the event in online format.

A total of 90 trillion rials (about $2.14 billion) will be spent on the filtration center, which will be launched over the next 10 years. Within the project, a 1.67 km long sewerage network will be created, a 11,600-meter long sewerage tunnel will be built, and 6 sewage filtration facilities will be built. The capacity of the facilities will be 780,000 cubic meters daily, according to the report.

“In addition, a sewage filtration center will be put into operation in the Pardis city of Tehran Province tomorrow. The sewage capacity of the facility, which was built on an area of 12 hectares, will be 24,000 cubic meters per day. About 1.75 trillion rials (about $41.6 million) was spent on the facility,” the report said.

Also, the 46-meter-high Nahab Dam with a capacity of 120 million cubic meters will be put into operation in the Qazvin Province (western Iran). Of this capacity, 80 million cubic meters per year will be allocated for agriculture, 25 million cubic meters for artificial water supply (water supply of groundwater springs) and 5 million cubic meters for the environment. In general, 4.65 trillion rials (about $110 million) was spent on the dam, the report said.

According to the report, two water filtration facilities will be put into operation in the Gilan Province (northern Iran). Each of these facilities can filter 3 cubic meters of water per second. The filtration facilities will supply water to 1.85 million people in 14 cities. As well as a sewage filtration center will be put into operation in the Mehr Housing Complex in the province. This center can filter 200 cubic meters of wastewater per day.

“Moreover, the first steam unit of the Caspian combined cycle power plant will be launched in the Mazandaran Province (northern Iran). The power generation capacity of this unit is 150 megawatt-hours. About 43.8 trillion rials (about $1.04 billion) was spent on the construction of the unit,” the report said.

Reportedly, the total cost of the facilities, of which foundation will be laid or to be put into operation tomorrow, is 142 trillion rials (about $3.37 billion).
