Georgian-Poland cooperation may include extraction of minerals from deposits - ministry

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 14

Poland and Georgia actively participated in the discussion conducted in 2020 at the Eastern Partnership forum on the priority directions of cooperation under the Eastern Partnership for the coming years, Ministry of Energy of Poland told Trend.

According to the ministry, the areas of cooperation with Georgia could include, inter alia, the exchange of experiences and sharing Polish achievements in the field of legislative and organizational solutions relating to:

- licensing and monitoring of activities including exploration and recognition of mineral deposits and extraction of minerals from deposits,

- climate protection – also in the context of sustainable urban development, including, inter alia: comprehensive climate education in urban and electromobility, support in the development of city adaptation plans to climate change (on the basis of the project entitled "Development of adaptation plans to climate change in cities with more than 100,000 inhabitants"),

- the solutions adopted in Poland relating to the establishment of emergency crude oil stocks.

"This list of areas for mutual cooperation requires discussions and confirmation from the Georgian side," said the ministry.
