SOCAR Energy Ukraine, a subsidiary of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has doubled the supplies of Azerbaijani oil to Ukraine since Aug.1 compared to the previous period, Director of Ukrainian A-95 Consulting Group LLC Sergey Kuyun told Trend.
According to Kuyun, exports of Azerbaijani oil to Ukraine reached 300,000 tons per month (previously – 150,000 tons per month).
"The exports grew due to reaching maximum level of oil processing at the Ukrtatnafta refinery in Kremenchug [city]– 14,000 tons per day. According to available information, in the foreseeable future oil purchases may increase," he said.
The director noted that as to date, SOCAR owns 70 gas stations in Ukraine, which is one percent of the market.
"In recent years, the development of the network has been slow - on average, one or two new filling stations are opened per year, however such a company like SOCAR has greater potential," he further said.
Kuyun also noted that the company has made a certain breakthrough since the beginning of 2021.
"SOCAR New Energy has become a supplier of a large volume of oil products of Rosneft, and also acquired the Glusco network [network of filling stations in Ukraine] in 2020," added Kuyun.
