Iran’s exports of oil products from the east ports of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) increased by 141 percent during the first five months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Director of Sahid Bahonar Ports and Maritime Department, Hamidreza Mohammad Hosseini said, Trend reports citing the Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
According to him, about 221,000 tons of oil products were exported over the reporting period.
Hosseini added that about 663,000 tons of non-oil products were loaded and unloaded in the east ports of Hormozgan Province within the 5 months, which is 43 percent more than the same period last Iranian year.
The director noted that more than 1.2 million tons of products were loaded and unloaded at these ports in total.
“The main non-oil products exported through these ports were sulfur, construction materials, foodstuffs, fruits and vegetables, construction equipment, which were exported to the countries around the Persian Gulf," he said.
Hosseini emphasized that about 3,700 ships docked at the east ports of Hormozgan Province in the five months. This is 57 percent more than in the same period last Iranian year.
