Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR in partnership with foreign companies has carried out 8,758 meters of exploration drilling in 2020, Trend reports with reference to the company.
SOCAR conducted exploration drilling at well #91 of Bulla Deniz offshore field on its own, while the drilling of KPS-4 at Karabagh field and SAX-01 at Shafag-Asiman were carried out together with Equinor and bp, respectively.
During the year, SOCAR's Department of Geophysics and Geology (DGG) and Caspian Geo LLC carried out 3D seismic works at an area of 560 square kilometers, while 2D seismic works were conducted on 5,031 linear kilometers.
Prospect Geophysics production section carried out 3D seismic survey at an area of 110 square kilometers at Oil Rocks-Mud Pile area by order of SOCAR’s Azneft production union. Caspian Geo LLC conducted 3D seismic survey at Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) block of fields at an area of 450 square kilometers by order of BP Exploration. At the same time, Caspian Geo LLC carried out 2D seismic survey at D-230 block on 5,031 linear kilometers by order of BP Exploration.
