Turkmenistan exceeded its natural gas production target by 5 percent in the first month of this year, according to Deputy Prime Minister Shahym Abdrakhmanov, Trend report citing Orient news.
He made the remark during a meeting of Turkmenistan's Cabinet of Ministers.
Abdrakhmanov went on to add that natural gas exports in the mentioned period have also increased by 10 percent.
Turkmenistan exceeded its oil production target by 0.4 percent during the reporting period, while increasing processing by 8.3 percent.
The country produced 13.1 percent more liquefied gas compared to the same period of last year, while increasing the volume of oil and gas exploration by 20 percent.
The highest results were achieved in polypropylene production, which was overfulfilled by 24.5 percent, diesel fuel by 16.8 percent, lubricating oils by 14.8 percent, and gasoline by 12.2 percent.
Turkmenistan's gas reserves have increased by 126 billion cubic meters as a result of industrial development of recently discovered gas fields.
With 32 licensing blocks, the Turkmen part of the Caspian Sea possesses 12.1 billion tons of oil and gas condensate and 6.1 trillion cubic meters of gas.
Earlier, the government allocated loans to expand natural gas field exploration. The Turkmen national gas company - Turkmengaz and the state hydrocarbon corporation - Turkmengeologia will receive over $66.9 million of state loans to fund work to increase natural gas production.
