Renewable energy power plants in Iran generated a total of 92 million kilowatt-hours of electricity in the 10th month of the current Iranian year (December 22, 2021 through January 20, 2022), Trend reports via the statistics of the Iranian Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization.
"As a result of the operation of these power plants in Iran for the 10th month, 26 million cubic meters of gas were saved during consumption of fossil fuels," the statistics said.
In addition, 20 million liters of water were saved in Iran as a result of the operation of the renewable energy power plants within the 10th month.
According to the statistics, with the operation of these power plants in Iran, the spread of 59,000 tons of CO2 gas was prevented within the mentioned month.
"Over the 10th month, the solar panel stations generated 455 megawatt-hours of electricity, wind turbines – 310 megawatt-hours, small hydroelectric power plants – 104 megawatt-hours, waste heat recovery stations – 4 megawatt-hours, biomass power plants – 10.5 megawatt-hours and turbo-expanders – 19.2 megawatt-hours," the statistics said.
In general, 7.36 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity were generated by renewable energy power plants in Iran by the end of the 10th month of the current Iranian year (January 20, 2022).
Also, the consumption of 2.09 billion cubic meters of gas, 1.62 billion liters of water were saved and the spread of 4.91 million tons of greenhouse gases (CO2) was prevented as a result of the operation of these power plants in Iran so far, the statistics said.
