By Leman Zeynalova – Trend:
Kulevi Oil Terminal of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR has reached 30 million tons transshipment volume, Trend reports via the terminal’s website.
“The terminal was initially designed for the transshipment of crude oil, fuel oil and gas oil. However, expansion projects enabled the terminal to increase the number of transshipped products to include hydrocarbon and petrochemical products like gasoline, aviation kerosene, methanol, naphtha, p-xylene, benzene, liquid pyrolysis resin, LPG and other products. One of the newly added options is transshipment of bitumen, which made a significant raise in the volumes,” reads a message.
Kulevi Oil Terminal and port is one of the first and the most important investments of SOCAR in Georgia.
The company provides a high level of service, and operates in compliance with international market requirements by following all rules and regulations. The operations began on May 16, 2008. The transshipment of oil products was launched in June. The total capacity of the terminal is 10 million tons of liquid bulk oil cargo per year. The total capacity of the tank farm of the terminal is 402,000 cubic meters.
