BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 30. Nearly 240,000 tons of high-quality road bitumen have been shipped from the 'Caspi Bitum'Aktau bitumen plant since the beginning of 2022, Trend reports referring to the National Company 'KazMunayGas' JSC.

This became known during the visit of Chairman of the Management Board of JSC NC 'KazMunayGas' (KMG) Magzum Mirzagaliyev to JV 'Caspi Bitum' LLP.

The plant's output for 2021 exceeded 400,000 tons, while about 240,000 tons of high-quality road bitumen have already been shipped since the beginning of 2022.

Mirzagaliyev gave instructions on accelerating the project implementation to increase the plant's capacity by 1.5 times and submitting this issue to the relevant bodies of LLP and KMG.

"Currently, the annual volume of oil refining at the Aktau bitumen plant is expected to increase from 1 million to 1.5 million. We have already started developing design estimates. The mentioned project will boost manufacturing of bitumen up to 750,000 tons per year," said KMG Acting Director-General Atymtay Baltabayev.

Mirzagaliyev also urged to consider the further sale of packaged bitumen in the off-season and noted the importance of raising production indicators to concern about social stability in production, improve working conditions and the welfare of workers.
