BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 24. Iran’s Bandar Abbas Thermal Power Plant in the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) generated about 2.6 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, during the first five months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2022), Head of the Bandar Abbas TPP Mehdi Moradi said, Trend reports citing Iranian Energy Ministry.
“Of this volume, 2.57 billion kilowatt-hours were generated by steam units, while 28.5 million kilowatt-hours - by gas units,” he said.
The official added that during the 5th month (July 23 through August 22, 2022) alone, the power plant generated about 553 million kilowatt-hours of electricity.
According to Moradi, Iran's Bandar Abbas Thermal Power Plant is the largest power plant in southern Iran with 4 steam and 2 gas units and plays a key role in supplying electricity to the Hormozgan Province.
The Bandar Abbas TPP is one of the main thermal power plants in Iran. The power generation capacity of this power plant is 1,330 megawatt-hours. The power plant has 4 steam units, with each unit's generation capacity of 320-megawatt-hours, and 2 gas units, with a generation capacity of 25 megawatt-hours each.
