Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan’s oil transportation to Türkiye up

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov.21. The volume of crude oil transportation to Türkiye via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline stood at 20.749 million barrels in October 2022, as compared to 16.759 million barrels in the same period in 2021 (up by 23.8 percent), Trend reports November 21 citing Türkiye’s BOTAS company.

The country imported 185.128 million barrels via BTC from January through October 2022, 12.2 percent more than 164.958 million barrels in the same period in 2021.

Türkiye’s oil imports via BTC stood at 200.149 million barrels in 2021, versus 208.064 million barrels in 2020.

During 2021, the highest volume of oil transportation to Turkey via BTC was recorded in January with 18.967 million barrels, while the lowest level was observed in February with 14.537 million barrels.

The BTC pipeline currently carries mainly ACG crude oil and Shah Deniz condensate from Azerbaijan. In addition, other volumes of crude oil and condensate continue to be transported via BTC, including volumes from Turkmenistan, Russia and Kazakhstan.

The BTC Co. shareholders are: BP (30.1 percent); AzBTC (25 percent); MOL (replaced Chevron as of 16 April 2020 (8.9 percent); Equinor (8.71 percent); TPAO (6.53 percent).
