BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 13. A number of oil and gas fields in the territory of Iran's West Oil and Gas Production Company (WOGPC) will be developed in the near future, Executive Director of the company, Ali Rezaee said at the meeting of the energy committee of Ilam Province, Trend reports citing IRNA.

“Among these fields, Tang-e Bijar gas field and Dehloran oil field can be specially mentioned,” the director stressed.

He added that the focus is on the development of the 2nd phase of Tang-e Bijar gas field. In order to develop the mentioned phase, the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Holding has proposed an investment of $102 million. With the development of the 2nd phase, production from the Tang-e Bijar gas field will increase from 6.6 million cubic meters to 11 million cubic meters per day.

Iran's Tang-e-Bijar gas field is located 70 km southwest of Ilam city. The field can produce 7 million cubic meters of gas and 7,000 barrels of gas condensate per day.

Reza also pointed out that a number of important steps are being taken in the Dehloran oil field. Currently, production from this field is about 24,000 barrels per day. By taking certain steps, the figure will increase to 27,000 barrels per day.

The Dehloran oil field (this field is called Abu Ghraib in Iraq) is located 180 km south of Kermanshah city and 22 km southwest of Dehloran county. The Dehloran field was discovered in 1972. The field contains 4.21 billion barrels of crude oil, of which 635 million barrels are extractable.

Iran's West Oil and Gas Production Company are one of three subsidiaries of the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC). The company has been operating since 1999 and covers the Kermanshah, Ilam and Lorestan provinces of Iran. The company can produce 165,000 barrels of crude oil and 7 million cubic meters of gas per day.
