BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 20. Gasoline consumption in Iran increased by 20.6 percent in the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), compared to the previous year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), Trend reports citing the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company’s website.
On average, approximately 105 million (104,500,000) liters of gasoline daily were consumed in the country during the current Iranian year.
In connection with the start of trips due to the Nowruz holiday in Iran, 115 million liters of gasoline were consumed countrywide on March 16, 2023 alone.
Domestic trips in Iran are increasing due to the fact that the population organizes holidays and celebrations during Nowruz and New Year.
Iran currently produces 105 million liters of gasoline (75 million liters in accordance with Euro 4 standards) and 110 million liters of diesel (54 million liters in accordance with Euro 4 and 5 standards) in 10 oil refineries.
