BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 18. More than 7.346 billion cubic meters of gas were transported through the South Caucasus Pipeline (Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum) from January to April 2023, compared to 6.783 billion cubic meters for the same period in 2022, Trend reports citing the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan.
As such, the volume of gas deliveries through the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline increased by 8.3 percent compared to the same period last year.
SCP accounted for 49.9 percent of the gas transported through Azerbaijan's main gas pipelines from January to April 2023, compared to 48.7 percent for the same period in 2022.
A total of approximately 14.712 billion cubic meters of gas were transported through Azerbaijan's main gas pipelines from January to April 2023, which is a 5.7 percent increase compared to the previous year.
The SCP has been operational since late 2006, transporting Shah Deniz gas to Azerbaijan, Georgia and Türkiye. The expanded section of the pipeline commenced commercial deliveries to Türkiye in June 2018 and to Europe in December 2020.
SCPC shareholders are: bp (operator – 29.99%), SGC (21.02%), LUKOIL (19.99%), TPAO (19.00%) and NICO (10.00%).
