In 2010, Azerikimya State-Owned Company was transferred to SOCAR, where it now oversees an ethylene-polyethylene plant, isopropyl alcohol production, steam and electric energy generation, and repair/construction.
Since the transition, efforts have been made to secure raw material supply, improve product quality, and expand capacity. Modern infrastructure, including nitrogen-oxygen complex, water-cooling, sulphur compound removal, and hydrogenation units, has been implemented. The primary phase of the ambitious modernization project was completed in 2022, enhancing efficiency and reinforcing Azerikimya's role within SOCAR.
