BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 30. Türkiye's natural gas imports from Iran decreased by 91.8 percent in August 2023, compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.
According to data obtained from the Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA), Türkiye imported about 73.9 million cubic meters of gas from Iran in August 2023.
Meanwhile, in August 2022, Türkiye's natural gas imports from Iran stood at around 905 million.
Iran's share of Türkiye's overall gas imports in August 2023 was 2.01 percent.
In August 2023, Türkiye imported a total of 3.68 billion cubic meters of gas. Of that, 3.28 billion cubic meters accounted for natural gas, and about 400 million cubic meters accounted for LNG.
Iran stands second in the world for gas reserves, with about 34 trillion cubic meters of gas. The county's gas production capacity is currently more than 1 billion cubic meters per day.
