BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 22. SOCAR Petroleum, subsidiary of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR, has expressed interest in building a bitumen terminal in Romania’s Constanta port in partnership with Romanian state-run port operator Oil Terminal, Trend reports via Bucharest Stock Exchange.
In addition to SOCAR Petroleum, six other companies are participating in the bidding process for the construction of the bitumen terminal. These companies include Takida Terminal, Euronova Energies, Frial SA, OMV Petrom, Trafigura, and Vitaro Energy SRL.
Recognizing that Oil Terminal lacks its own resources for undertaking such development projects, the company is keenly interested in establishing strategic partnerships to facilitate the successful implementation of the bitumen terminal construction.
SOCAR entered the Romanian market in 2011 with SOCAR Petroleum SA.
SOCAR is expanding its gas filing stations’ network in neighboring countries and Europe.
SOCAR sells oil and oil products not only from Azerbaijan, but also from third countries.
SOCAR conducts various petroleum activities in countries such as Georgia, Türkiye, Switzerland, Germany and Ukraine, including trading activities, mainly in Switzerland, Singapore and Nigeria.
