German companies fend for Turkmenistan's revamp of its gas compressor stations

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, November 27. Turkmenistan's Turkmengaz State Concern is upgrading its gas compressor stations in partnership with German companies, Trend reports.

This was announced by the Deputy Chairman of the Government of Turkmenistan, Batyr Amanov, at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.

Agreements on cooperation with German partners were concluded during President of the Supreme Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visit to Germany on September 28-29, this year.

Turkmengaz State Concern intends to collaborate with German firms on the introduction of modern technology, as well as the most recent scientific and engineering breakthroughs, in addition to improving the functioning of gas compressor stations.

In summarizing the report, Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the need of modernizing the fuel and energy sectors and directed that efforts on growing international collaboration in this area continue.

According to the results of this year, gas production in Turkmenistan is expected to exceed 80 billion cubic meters, of which about 73 billion cubic meters will be accounted for by Turkmengaz, and exports are projected to amount to about 40 billion cubic meters, of which about 35 billion cubic meters will be supplied by the state concern.
