Azneft, an oil and gas extracting unit of the Azerbaijan State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), has finished drilling the appraisal well in the southern part of West Absheron, the SOCAR told Trend.
An appraisal well drilling took place from the Absheron drilling rig. The project depth of the well is 750m.
Drilling of outdistancing wells is conducted by the Khazar drilling rig. The project depth of that well is 780m. It would be completed after the column descent.
According to the SOCAR, open deposit is very effective for the exploitation as it is located next to the coast and is close to existing oil transportation communications. Contouring and evaluation of the deposits are taking place now. The wells have approximate depth of ranging from 800 to 1000 meters.
An oil extracting platform is planned to be installed by SOCAR by the end of this year. It would be located in the coastal area, 40-50 meters off the sea shore. According to the experts evaluation, the well has approximately 1.5 million tons of the extractable deposits.
