In the 1st quarter the Azerbaijan International operating Company (AIOC) developing the on-shore block Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli produced 4,658 m tons oil of Azeri light brand from the contract area or 2,625 m tons more as compared 2005. It is related to beginning of production from Central Azeri in February and Western Azeri in January 2006.
From January to March 2006 AIOC produced 1,825m tons of oil from the Chirag oilfield against 1,762m tons in 2005, 2,833m tons of oil from the Central Azeri against 271,272,000 in 2005.
In March 2006 AIOC totally produced 1,688m tons or 802,730 tons more as compared 2005. The same time, 618,556,000 tons fell to the Chirag field against 614,000 tons in 2005, 1,07m tons of oil - the Azeri field against 271,270 tons in 2005.
