Batumi oil terminal increases delivery of oil cargo

In January to June 2006 the Batumi terminal delivered a total of 6.4 million tons of oil cargo against 4.3 million tons as compared to 2005, the port sources told Trend.

In June the delivery made up 867,500 tons against 1.4 million tons in May 2006 and 923,000 tons in June 2005.

The Batumi oil terminal is capable to handle up to 15 million tons of bulk oil cargo a year. The terminal services tankers of 30,000-90,000 tons deadweight on four berths including a special buoy for the vessels of the Aframax class. At the moment the terminals tank park capacity is about 530,000 tons, which is more than enough for handling of current and forecasted cargoes going through the corridor.
