AIOC (Azerbaijan International Operating Company) with its operator, BP, is viewing the possibility to produce gas from the layers which are upper of Fasila Suite, wherefrom oil is produced on block of fields, Azeri-Chiragh-Gunashli (ACG), Trend reports.

The production of this gas enables to inject it back to the layer that lead to its expanding and keeping for a longer period on the point of plateau of the gas production on ACG.

According to appraisals made by experts, the additional gas reserves on ACG may be kept in Balakhana Suite. Different conceptions on the implementation of this project are under consideration now. Work on the layers upper of Fasila Suite do not require concluding any new contract. As the experts say, SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) is currently developing Balakhana Suite, particularly on the shallow-water section of Gunashli Field, where SOCAR carries out all production works itself. SOCAR intends to drill 13-20 wells on Balakhana Suite to increase the gas production within the accepted program. The parties to the agreement on the AVG Project are: BP (operator вЂ" 34,1%), Chevron (10,2%), SOCAR (10%), INPEX (10%), Statoil (8,6%), ExxonMobil (8%), TPAO (6,8%), Devon (5,6%), ITOCHU (3,9%), and Hess (2,7%).
