Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend I.Khalilova / The Vice Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, Yagub Eyyubov, said that the electricity demand in the regions of Azerbaijan decreased by nearly 20% due to the increase of tariffs for energy resources at the beginning of the year.
"In addition, installing meters to calculate the electricity being consumed per household played a great role in this issue," the Vice Prime Minister added.
The electricity production was defined in volume of 25 bln KVt/h in the fuel and energy balance of the Country, but the expected volume is nearly 22-23 bln KVt/h.
"The decrease is explained through the reduction of electricity consumption," Eyyubov said.
