Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr S. Aliyev / The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) transferred 276.34mln cu m of gas to the Azerenerji joint-stock company in May for the production of electrical energy. Altogether, Azerenerji received 586.45mln cu m of gas in 2007.
The scheme of mutual accounts on gas operations among state bodies was changed in April. Now SOCAR transfers its gas to Azerenerji. Earlier, the operations were implemented through Azerigaz.
SOCAR sold 1,000cu m of gas per AZN 42 to Azerigaz, and the company sold the fuel necessary for production of electrical energy to Azerenerji.
Azerenerji paid little for the gas supplied by Azerigaz. Thus, Azerigaz had debts to SOCAR. At present Azerigaz only transports gas to electric stations.
