Forecasts on Gas Sale from Azerbaijan’s Shah Deniz Field

Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend S.Aliyev / According to the forecasts of Azerbaijan Gas Supply Company operated by Statoil, nearly 3.43 bln cu.m of gas will be exported from gas condensate field of Shah Deniz this year, a Government source stated on 28 July.

Of them, 1.44 bln cu.m of gas will be received by Turkey, 0.25 bln by Georgia and nearly 0.1 bln cu.m will be delivered to the pumping stations of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline. Azerbaijan will receive 1.62 bln cu.m of gas.

Currently the daily production on the field makes up nearly 8 mln cu.m per day. Three wells are in operation. The fourth well will be put into operation in October.

8.6 bln cu.m of gas will be produced within Phase-1 of the development project of "Shah Deniz". In 2007 2.8 bln cu.m of gas will be produced from "Shah Deniz". The contract on the development of the offshore Shah Deniz field was signed on 4 June 1996. The participants in the contract are BP (operator) -25.5%, Statoil - 25.5%, NICO - 10%, Total - 10%, LukAgip - 10%, TPAO- 9% and SOCAR - 10%.
