Azerbaijan can Continue Supplies of Gas to Georgia Next Year

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr S. Aliyev / Azerbaijan can increase supplies of its own gas to Georgia and to prolong them even in next year, according to the Government. The volume can be increased in autumn-winter period to 2.5mln cu m of gas per 24 hours.

At present Azerbaijan supplies 1.3 - 1.5mln cu m of its own gas to Georgia. Some 2.5mln cu m of gas is delivered to Georgia per 24 hours. Up to 1.5mln cu m of gas are transported from Shah Deniz field via old gas pipelines and 1mln via South-Caucasus gas pipeline.

The gas from Shah Deniz is sold to Georgia at the price of $63 per 1,000 cu m. The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) has an agreement on supply of gas to Georgia at the price of $120 per 1,000 cu m.
