Germany Will Make Every Effort to Implement Natural Gas Filling Stations : E.ON Ruhrgas

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend A.Badalova / Thomas Giesel, Vice President of E.ON Ruhrgas, stated in an interview with Trend , that E.ON Gas Mobil which is owned by the German company E.ON Ruhrgas, will build 150 natural gas filling stations along the German motorways by the end of 2008.

The European Union countries are actively working on utilizing healthy energy. For example, according to the German sociological institute THS - Infratest, every third motor vehicle enthusiast buying a new car prefers a car that runs on gas.  

According to Giesel, there are strong efforts within the German gas market to implement natural gas filling stations. 'There is an ongoing program to build 1,000 stations by the end of 2008," he added.

Nearly every leading brand (Daimler-Chrysler, General Motors, Ford, Volkswagen, Fiat) are now selling cars powered by natural gas. In 2007 there are already more than 55,000 registered cars which are powered by natural gas. "Forecasts predict that this number will rise to 150,000 by 2010," E.ON Ruhrgas Vice President stressed.
