The total volume of corporate securities transactions on the Baku Stock Exchange (BSE) amounted to slightly over 1 billion manat ($600 million) from January through June 2020 against 303.1 million manat (almost $178.3 million) in the same period of 2019, Trend reports referring to the BSE data.
As a result, the total volume of operations carried out in the first half of 2020 increased by 3.3 times, year on year.
Among the conducted transactions, nine transactions worth 102.4 million manat ($60.2 million) were conducted in the primary market, which is 2.2 times more than from January through June 2019. Six of the transactions were conducted with mortgage obligations totaling 100.4 million manat ($59 million) - a growth of 2.4 times.
In the first half of 2020, 1,072 operations totaling 917.2 million manat ($539.5 million) accounted for the secondary market.
Moreover, 841 stocks worth over 8.6 million manat ($5 million) were sold on the secondary market, which is almost 8.7 times more year on year.
REPO transactions on corporate securities amounted to 759.4 million manat ($446.7 million) showing an increase of 1.5 times. In total, 440 REPO transactions on corporate securities were carried out at BSE from January through June 2020, which is almost 2 times more than in the same period of 2019.
