Azerbaijan records growth in cost of air cargo transport for 10M2021

The cost of goods transported by air in Azerbaijan from January through October 2021 increased, Trend reports citing the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee (SCC).

According to the SCC, this indicator exceeded $1.15 billion, up by $394,000 (3.4 percent) on annual basis.

In the first 10 months of this year, over 57.9 million tons of cargo were transported by air, which is 5.5 million tons (10.5 percent) less than during the same period of 2020, the committee said.

Meanwhile, the export volume of goods by air grew by seven million tons (16.2 percent) and exceeded 50.7 million tons. The export value was more than $230.3 million (an increase of $17.8 million or 8.41 percent).

Besides, over 7.2 million tons (a decline of 1.5 million tons or 17.5 percent) accounted for imports, making up more than $929.4 million (a growth of $21.5 million or 2.37 percent).

Azerbaijan’s trade turnover exceeded $26.1 billion during the reporting period, including export worth over $16.8 billion, imports - over $9.3 billion, added the committee.
