The Azerbaijani Health Ministry issued about 150,000 e-health cards, Deputy Spokesman Jabrayil Asadzade told Trend .
So far, the ministry's all maternity hospitals, maternity wards of hospitals and children's hospitals are connected to the system. A local set was established between the subdivisions of the ministry, which facilitates rapid exchange of official information. Information is directly stored in a database from the health facilities through a network. Automating of medical records about patients simplifies search of the necessary information and shortens time of diagnosis.
The project also provides transfer of information on citizens aged 0-18 years from paper into electronic version, Asadzade said. Unlike under-aged, new born is provided with plastic cards. E-health cards are produced in the Ministry's center of public health reform and provided freely to parents through the clinics.
The project is implemented under the state program on "Electronic Azerbaijan".
