The world producers of computer technique are suffering difficulties with consumption of computer products, AZEL CEO Igor Yakovenko told journalists.

Taking into account this tendency now the Azerbaijani computer companies can achieve more available prices from vendors, which enable to offer technique at low prices at the market.

The structure of demand has changed in the Azerbaijani computer market, Yakovenko said.

"If earlier some 50 percent of notebooks were sold at over $1,000, now 80 percent of portable computers are sold at less than $800. It means save money and want to buy efficient computer equipment at available prices. Sale of portable computers in price category up to $4,000 has halved," Yakovenko said.

At the beginning of the year the world vendors offered the Azerbaijani IT companies special prices for computer technique in connection with the global financial crisis. It is dealt with notebooks, which were sold at 350 manats. Presently, the price is ascending and it is impossible to see portable devices at this price at computer shops.

Head of the Research Center for Data Problems, Yashar Hajiyev, asserts that rise has been observed in the IT market of Azerbaijan in the first half-year.

According to Hajiyev, destabilization of the world economy concerned not only the global IT market, but also the Azerbaijani market which reduced by 20 percent, while total cut of IT market on sale made up 24 percent worldwide. Azerbaijan is far from the European countries on many indices, where glut is observed in IT market. By force of insufficient development crisis did not affect so negatively the Azerbaijani IT market.

"The period of deep crisis observed at the beginning of the year is passing by. Stabilization in the market can be expected by the end of the year. It is dealt not with high growth rate, but retaining the rate which was observed at the end of 2008," Hajiyev said.

The crisis had less impact on the fields which is urgent for consumers and those which can enable them to save expenses in the short-term prospect, or contribute to expanding business.
