Azerbaijan ranked 89 on the speed of incoming Internet traffic in Ookla company's Net Index rating, which created Speedtest service.
The results were received on the basis of experimental studies from Oct.20-Nov.18. Some 70,962 unique IP-addresses were chosen for the tests.
According to the rating Net Index, the average speed of incoming traffic in Azerbaijan is 2.81 Mbps. The rating includes results of the statistical indicators of the two primary providers of Azerbaijan - Delta Telecom and Baktelekom, in the networks of which the rate of incoming traffic was 3.36 and 2.02 Mbps respectively during the studied period.
Azerbaijan is ahead of Malaysia (90) - 2.78 Mbps, Uzbekistan (111) 1.86 Mbps, Armenia (121) - 1.59 Mbps, Tajikistan (136) - 1.24 Mbps, Iran (158) - 0.56 Mbps and other countries on incoming traffic. The top three include South Korea (36.14 Mbps), Lithuania (29.24 Mbps) and Latvia (25.13 Mbps)
Azerbaijan ranks 77 on the outgoing traffic with an indicator of users' entry into the network at speed of 0.93 Mbps.
Azerbaijan is ahead of Israel (92) - 0.80 Mbps, Italy (93) - 0.80 Mbps, Greece (104) - 0.70 Mbps, Uzbekistan (109) 0.65 Mbps, Mexico (116) - 0.57 Mbps, Armenia (118) - 0.54 Mbps, Iran (158) - 0.20 Mbps and other countries on this indicator.
According to statistics on outgoing traffic in the networks of Delta Telecom and Baktelekom speed hit 1.44 Mbps and 0.61 Mbps respectively.
