Azerbaijan's export of satellite services increases

Revenues of Azerbaijani Azercosmos OJSC satellite operator from the export of satellite and telecommunication services amounted to $10.4 million from January through March 2020, which is 37 percent more compared to the same period of 2019, stated the Export Review of the country’s Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communications, Trend reports.

The Azercosmos’ revenues from the export of services amounted to 88 percent of company’s total revenues.

From January through March 2020, these services were provided to 24 countries, including the US, the UK, France, the UAE, and Germany.

In 2019, revenues of Azercosmos from the export of satellite and telecommunication services amounted to $43.4 million, which is 70 percent more compared to the same period of 2018.

Azercosmos is the premier satellite operator in the South Caucasus. Azerspace-1, the telecommunication satellite operated by Azercosmos, provides highly-reliable broadband and broadcast solutions to its customers in Europe, Africa, Middle East, the Caucasus, and Central Asia.

Azercosmos operates two communications satellites - Azerspace-1, Azerspace-2, and the low-orbit satellite Azersky.
