Aztelekom develops project to improve quality of services in Azerbaijani districts

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 3

By Nargiz Ismayilova – Trend:

Aztelekom LLC of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies has developed a linear network infrastructure project to expand the coverage area and improve the network quality in the Azerbaijani districts, a source in the ministry told Trend.

"At the initial stage, the infrastructure is being reconstructed in Azerbaijan’s Ganja, Sumgayit cities and Absheron and Masalli districts through GPON, which is one of the latest technologies,” the ministry said. “All available resources are used in the service zones of the districts to ensure ICT infrastructure in accordance with modern requirements. As a result of the implemented infrastructure projects, the quality and the range of services are being improved and customer satisfaction is ensured."

“After the completion of reconstruction work, the deployment of this technology in other districts will be launched at the next stage,” the source said.

As a pilot project, the LTE (Long Term Evolution) wireless network was deployed in Khulovlu and Garachi villages in Khachmaz district in 2018 to meet the demand for services in the zones in which there is no telephone service, as well as in the areas with difficult terrain. The receiving equipment has been installed in the houses of residents.

The LTE network in the Absheron district is already available in Khirdalan city, Digakh, Fatmai, Mahammadli, Masazir, Mehtiabad, Novkhani, Gobu and Saray settlements, as well as in the 11th microdistrict of Sumgayit city, Jorat, Gurd Deresi, and G.Z. Taghiyev settlements.

Aztelekom LLC continues deploying the latest generation wireless technology and providing the population with stable communication, high-speed internet and other multimedia services in its service zones.

LTE technology has advantages such as high data rate and fast provision of places having weak infrastructure with telecommunication services.

Aztelekom LLC has been recently working on a network reconstruction project based on Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) and Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) technologies to meet the demand for telecommunication services, as well as render high-quality, stable and multi-stage communication services.

The corresponding equipment has been installed in the district centers of Azerbaijan. In 2019, 23 new electronic telephone exchanges were installed in various districts covered by Aztelekom. The work was carried to increase the number of ports in existing stations.
