It is planned to expand bilateral cooperation in the field of innovative development and the digital economy, which will be fixed already in the sixth 'road map' between Azerbaijan and Russia, Trade Representative of Russia in Azerbaijan, Ruslan Mirsayapov told Trend.
According to Mirsayapov, during the official visit to Russia of the First Vice-President of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva in November 2019, agreements were reached on expanding bilateral cooperation in the field of innovative development and the digital economy.
“The draft roadmap passes all the necessary approval procedures and will be signed upon completion by the co-chairs of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between the two countries, Deputy Prime Ministers of Russia and Azerbaijan Alexey Overchuk and Shahin Mustafayev,” Mirsayapov said.
The trade representative stressed that among the practical measures proposed to this roadmap, it is worth noting the creation of an expert working group in the areas of innovative development and the digital economy, the development of an Action Plan for the interaction of the Skolkovo Foundation with the innovative and entrepreneurial infrastructure of Azerbaijan, and the implementation of joint educational projects.
“The fulfillment of these tasks will facilitate bringing our cooperation in the IT-sphere to a qualitatively new level,” added the trade representative.
Azerbaijan and Russia signed cooperation programs in the fields of agriculture and tourism for 2020-2022. The documents were signed following a meeting on Dec. 9, 2019, in Baku by the Azerbaijani-Russian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation. In particular, the sides signed the Program of Cooperation in the Agro-Industrial Complex for 2020-2022. The documents were signed by Deputy PM of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev and Minister of Economic Development of Russia Maxim Oreshkin.
