Uzbekistan plans to identify areas of practical interaction with NOKIA, Finnish Technology Corporation, in order to attract high technologies to all sectors of the economy of the country, Trend reports citing the press service of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Riga (Latvia).

It is reported that the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Riga organized a meeting in the format of video communication between the leadership and experts of the Uzbekcosmos, Agency for Space Research and Technologies under the Cabinet of Ministers, and NOKIA, Finnish Technology Corporation.

NOKIA is a Finnish multinational technology corporation working in more than 100 countries around the world. The staff exceeds 103,000 people. The annual income of the company reaches $23 billion. One of the 500 largest companies in the world according to the Fortune Global 500. The company develops the next generation of standards for 5G mobile networks. In addition, the company has a representative office in Uzbekistan.

It is noted that the videoconference was opened by the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Finland with residence in Riga Kadambay Sultanov and NOKIA Vice President for Europe and Central Asia Mikko Lavanti.

The representatives of Uzbekcosmos provided detailed information on the tasks of the new Agency. The special attention of the leadership of the country to the development of the industry and the attraction of the advanced experience of world leaders in this field was emphasized. In this regard, interest was shown in identifying areas of practical interaction with NOKIA.

In turn, Mikko Lavanti appreciated the transformations carried out in Uzbekistan under the leadership of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and noted the purposefulness of efforts to attract high technologies to all sectors of the country's economy.

In addition, NOKIA experts made a detailed presentation of the company's capabilities that may be of interest to the Uzbek side. Also, proposals were voiced on promising areas of cooperation.
