Microcredits may be received in mail offices - Minister of Communication

Starting 2008, microcredits will be issued in Azerbaijan via mail offices, Trend reports quoting Ali Abbasov, Minster of Communication and IT.

Abbasov said mail offices will provide services for various types of payments, reception of deposits and at last issue microcredits within В"Financial services developmentВ" project realized in collaboration with the World Bank.

Minister said SE Azerpocht will get licensed and registered within international payment system.

В"We are working out the issue with National Bank of Azerbaijan to issue an authorization for such operationsВ", - minister underlined.

Additional servers will be installed in central mail offices of Baku and Sumgayit and further in regions. There will be POS-terminals and ATMs installed at mail offices as well. As a result of the project, 1,000 workplaces will be opened.
