The Director-General of International Association of Science Parks (IASP) Luis Sanz expressed his satisfaction that the Azerbaijani Government is developing the communication and information technology as a priority. This is in line with the world-wide development, Sanz told Trend.

Taking into consideration that the fact that Government has undertaken obligations to develop ICT and that creating the infrastructure would not be expensive, it is possible to predict that Azerbaijan will rapidly develop in this respect, Sanz said.

But according to Sanz, it needs to make efforts and allocate finances for the education, train personnel using these technologies.

The population needs to understand the advantages of using the Internet. This technology is not intended only for businessmen, but for people in all walks of life. This education will fill the gap which exists between the highly developed and developing countries in this sphere, he emphasized.

Touching upon the possibility of a contribution from the IASP, Sanz underlined that the key goal of the IASP is to render assistance for the formation of the necessary projects, to assist in creating communication relating to similar projects in other countries and to exchange experience with regards to applying for more successful technical parks.
