Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend / Azerbaijan and the United States has agreed to sign an inter-governmental agreement on communications and IT as soon as possible on the basis of the memorandum signed by the US State Department and Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry in 2006. The agreement was achieved at a meeting between the Azerbaijani Communications and IT Minister, Ali Abbasov, and a delegation headed by the US Deputy Trade Minister David Sampson on 5 June.
Opportunities for expansion of cooperation between the sides and current state of the IT field in Azerbaijan were discussed at the meeting.
Sampson arrived in Baku for participation in the 14th International Exhibition and the 'Oil and Gas, Oil Refining and Petrochemistry of Caspian Sea' conference.
