In 2017, 2.5 million Iranian tourists visited Turkey, the Turkish Hotel Association said in a message Feb. 20.
According to the message, the number of Iranian tourists who visited Turkey in 2017 is 50.2 percent more compared to 2016.
The main flow of Iranian tourists to Turkey will be observed during Novruz holiday.
Turkey’s tourism revenues increased by 18.9 percent and totaled $26.283 billion in 2017 as compared to 2016.
Meanwhile, 77.4 percent of total volume of revenues accounted for the share of foreign tourists, and 22.6 percent – for the share of Turkish citizens living abroad.
The number of tourists who visited Turkey in 4Q17 rose by 23.1 percent as compared to the same period of 2016.
In the fourth quarter of 2017, 8.2 million tourists visited Turkey, 83.2 percent of them are foreign tourists, and 16.8 percent are Turkish citizens living abroad.
