US citizens leading among applicants for e-visa to Uzbekistan

Since the launch of the system for processing and issuing electronic entry visas in Uzbekistan on July 15, 196 applications from citizens of 28 countries have been submitted to the service portal, Gazeta.uz reported citing Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov.

The system can be used by citizens arriving in Uzbekistan for tourist purposes from countries for which a simplified procedure for issuing a visa is established.

The deadline for consideration of the application is two working days. As of the evening of July 17, 31 electronic visas had already been issued.

Most applications came from US citizens - 33, Britain - 30 and China - 26. Citizens of Poland and India filed 14 applications.

Applications were also received from the citizens of Spain - 9, Canada - 8, France and the Netherlands - 7, Germany, Ireland and Italy - 5, Belgium and Portugal - 4, Hungary, Switzerland and Australia - 3, Austria, Bulgaria, Denmark , Croatia and the United Arab Emirates - 2 each, as well as Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Norway, Sweden and Saudi Arabia - 1 each.

An electronic visa is issued for a single stay in the territory of Uzbekistan for a period of 30 days. It is valid for 90 days.

An electronic visa is sent to an e-mail address, when crossing the border, it is enough to submit a visa in paper or electronic form.
