Wizz Air leads in Georgia's aviation market in number of passengers

Wizz Air leads on Georgia's aviation market in terms of the number of transferred passengers, according to the data for the first nine months of 2019, Trend reports referring to the Georgian media outlets.

The low-cost air company has a 15 percent share in the Georgia's aviation market.

With 11 percent each, Turkish Airlines and Georgian Airways share the second and third places.

By the number or percentage of passengers on scheduled and reusable charter flights, the top ten in the Georgian aviation market include: Wizz Air – 592,988 passengers (15 percent), Turkish Airlines – 443,932 passengers (11 percent), Georgian Airways – 435,208 passengers (11 percent), Ural Airlines – 190,341 passengers (5 percent).

The top-10 list also includes Pobeda airlines with 180,684 passengers (4 percent), Ukraine International Airlines – 168,672 passengers (4 percent), Fly Dubai airline - 166,259 passengers (4 percent), Pegasus Airlines – 135,494 passengers (3 percent), Air Arabia – 107,535 passengers (3 percent), and SkyUp Airlines - 115,070 passengers (3 percent).

Form January to September 2019, Georgian airports served 4.13 million passengers via regular and charter flights.
