New Mi-35M attack and transport helicopter arrived in Uzbekistan from Russia, Trend reports citing Russian media.

In March 2018, Russia and Uzbekistan signed an agreement on the supply of Mi-35M helicopters during the arms exhibition ArmHiTech-2018.

The upgraded Mi-35M helicopter manufactured in Russian Rostov-on-Don city features an improved design. It is equipped with more powerful VK-2500 engines and has fiberglass rotor blades. The fuselage has a shortened wing, which gives the Mi-35M high flight characteristics. In particular, it can be effectively used in conditions of high temperatures and high mountains.

The Mi-35M design provides the helicopter with low acoustic visibility, increased combat survivability, and also reduces the complexity of maintenance. In addition to performing strike functions, the Mi-35M helicopter can be used as an airborne transport and ambulance. It can carry up to 1,500 kilograms of ammunition or other cargo inside the cabin or 2,400 kilograms of cargo on an external suspension.

The Mi-35M is armed with a movable double-barreled 23-mm cannon, “Attack” anti-tank missiles, unguided 80-mm and 122-mm rockets, as well as air bombs.

The machine has a round-the-clock surveillance and sighting station with a range of target detection of up to ten kilometers.
