Inflation rate in Kazakhstan amounted to 0.5 percent in May 2020, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.
Growth of consumer prices in Kazakhstan amounted to 0.5 percent during the reporting month, compared to Apr. 2020 and by 6.7 percent compared to May 2019.
Prices of industrial manufacturers decreased by 7.9 percent in May 2020, compared to Apr. 2020 and by 22.1 compared to May 2019. Goods of industrial purpose decreased in price by 0.5 percent in a month and increased by 6.3 percent year-on-year.
Prices in construction sector went up by 0.1 percent in May compared to Apr. 2020 (increase by 0.9 percent compared to May 2019), whereas agricultural goods prices increased by 1.5 percent compared to May 2020 (by 14 percent compared to May 2019).
At the same time, tariffs for cargo transportation by all types of vehicles decreased by 0.3 percent month-on-month and increased by 3.7 percent year-on-year.
Tariffs for postal and courier services, and tariffs for communication services for legal entities for May remained on the April level, however they went up by 1.9 percent and 1.2 percent respectively compared to May 2019.
Wholesale prices increased by 0.1 percent month-on-month, and by 2.5 4 percent compared to May 2019.
