By Nargiz Sadikhova - Trend:

Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan have great potential for cooperation in joint development of petrochemical and food industries projects, Advisor to the Chairman of Kazakhstan’s KAZAKH INVEST National Company on Strategic Analysis at Zhandos Temirgali told Trend.

Temirgali noted that Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan are active business partners.

“Cooperation in joint development of petrochemical and food industry projects has great potential for the two countries. However, I would also like to highlight cooperation in transport infrastructure development. Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are part of the Middle Corridor international route, which can also be called Turkic Silk Road,” Temirgali said.

He noted that concrete projects for laying an underwater fiber optic cable along the bottom of the Caspian Sea and the construction of data centers in Azerbaijan's Baku and Kazakhstan's Aktau, with the participation of international investors, are being implemented within cooperation in this area.

“Trans-Caspian International Transport Route connecting China and Europe through a wide transport corridor that runs through the territory of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey, should contribute to the successful development of transport infrastructure,” Temirgali said.

He noted that the most important advantages of the route are low complex risks, which should ensure transportation stability, as well as increased transportation speed.

“At the same time, the task of developing multimodal freight transportation and infrastructure directly using modern engineering, technical and digital solutions that can significantly reduce costs comes to the fore, and therefore, the involvement of large international players in implementing the project remains a priority,” he noted.

In turn, Temirgali said, the digital industry is also of strategic importance for the progressive economies development for both countries, and Central Asia and South Caucasus should not become "blank spot" on the map of global information routes.
