Iran discloses volume of products transited via Hormozgan Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 19

The volume of products transited via the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) amounted to 673,000 tons during the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 20-July 21, 2020), Director General of Road and Transportation Department of Hormozgan Province Yousef Abedini told reporters, Trend reports citing IRNA.

Abedini stressed that the bulk of products was transited via province’s ports of Shahid Rajaee, Shahid Bahonar, Qeshm, Kish and Bandar Lengeh.

The director general added that more than 535,000 tons of products were transited through the Shahid Rajaee port.

"About 2.27 million tons of products were transited through Hormozgan Province over a past year (from July 22, 2019 to July 21, 2020)," he said.

According to Abedini, the transit products arriving Hormozgan Province through ports are mainly transported by land to various destinations.

“The expansion of the transport network of Hormozgan Province is in the spotlight due to its locationon the North-South Corridor's route and the importance in transit operations,” he said.
