The first container express block train has departed from Turkey within the TURKUAZ project, the subsidiary of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC, ADY Container LLC, told Trend.
The train's cargo is 21 45-foot containers,
“The train departed from the Turkish Paysan station. Its cargo is an animal feed of plant origin,” the company said.
Besides, ADY Express noted that TURKUAZ is a new logistics product developed by ADY Container together with partners from Turkey and Georgia.
The container express train will carry out cargo transportation twice a week from Istanbul and Mersin to Baku and back, the message said.
The launch of the TURKUAZ project will contribute to the growth of freight traffic on the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) railway.
